Your edit post laptop has a better videocard (smaller, less energy used, and same specs as the 8600GT) so you should get the latter.

I have a lightly used Dell Inspiron 1520 for sale. Decided gaming was something I don't do very often so I'm selling it. It has decent configurations and comes with a nice LG LCD. There are NO damages or stains of any kind (pretty much in mint condition). Specifications: Intel Core 2 Duo T7250...

I think you might have to go through the process of calling Microsoft to get it to validate your key. Some people didn't even have to pay and they shouldn't for preference in 32-bit or 64-bit.
