    C vs C++ or any C varient

    I know how you feel. Coming from Eclipse, programming C/C++ under unix or linux can be cumbersome. But you'll get used to it, once you seen enough "stack overflow" error. Of course there are tools like emac, vim, ctags... that can make your life easier, but you might need someone to teach you...
