I have two 775's and don't see disposing of them any time soon. I built a 1055t to play with and eventually take over the duties of my P5W64/e6600 machine. It will receive a 9550 to replace the aging cpu, but I don't see why I would need more as long as one workstation chews through my work...
Kinda makes your stomach churn. I have learned over the years to take my family and friends machines outside and I use my shop vac on vacuum and then blow to get the bulk out. It is often frightening to consider what a fire hazard some of those machines were. I wish I had a way to collect all...
What do I use to accurately monitor my core temps on my X6 1055t processor. I have it on a Gigabyte board and have noticed a 10 degree disparity between the gigabyte software and CoreTemp. Who do I trust? It is difficult to make decisions on where I am overclocked when I don't have a good...
All good info. In the end I have cowarded out and used the Chill Factor 2 that came with the Thermaltake heatsink. The difficulty of getting the mounting hardware set up without moving the sink prompted me to do so. I did a dry fit and did not like the way it moved around the chip.
So now...
I am preparing to changing cooling solutions on my brand spanking new 1055T (well, 2 months old) and have a package of the Indigo Xtreme thermal film to try. In my reading, I have not seen anyone that has used this interface with an AMD chip, let alone a 1055T. Does anyone here have knowledge...
It;s a good board. Got one, and I have no complaints. Booted without issue, and no lock ups while playing with the bios settings. Running a 1055T on it and the system seems built for one another. No doubt there are fancier and more extreme, but it renders fast and runs the new Lightroom 3...
Build a sealed duct system directly into the case and forcing air through the fans and the heatsink. make the exhaust system sealed to the outside of the case as well. Simply put, a closed loop system for cooling the heatsink. You can build a collection tray to sit below the duct and heatsink...
I have the 1055t and am very satisfied with it's performance. I have not pushed it as the cooling is stock at the moment. I am still doing my research on what cooling option will be best for my situation. I think you will like this chip alot if you use multi threaded apps. Of course, the...
Thanks for the input. Now I need to weigh the alternative uses of the machine against the card of choice. I do game a little, but all of them are old. Just like me.
I am not looking that far into a weighty card. I know that several consumer cards are supposed to be capable of doing an adequate job with CS5.
Oh, and I have an affinity for ATI cards. I just haven't advanced beyond my XT1900. So I am behind the curve a bit here.
First off, Hi, not a newb, but the new account would seem so...
I am in the process of building a new system for the Photoshop graphics work and eventually back to video editing. I am going to be running the likes of CS5, Lightroom 2 or 3 ( I am not sure if I will upgrade yet), and probably...
