That's sort of what I don't get - if it really is just an OC'd 9800GTX, why not market it as such instead of a 9800GT? You'd think that would steer people away from the card since even an OC'd stock 9800GT would not be particularly desirable at that price point. Seems like they are making an...
I saw this card last week and have been thinking about picking one up. I've only seen one bench of it so far:

Looks like a decent card, and a pretty good deal even...
I sent mine in for a refund as well. Had a lot of bearing whine in the Zalman (which was constant since the fan speed was not adjustable), then it started to artifact horribly if the computer was restarted the second the display came back on the POST screen.
I've seen a few coolers (mostly the Zalman 900s) that have a bit of fan bearing whine to them when the fan speed kicks up. Other than that it's probably cap whine. Depending on the frequency I'd probably RMA it because I'm way to sensitive to those kind of noises and it would drive me insane.
I'm looking for a simple, stable AM2+ board that has at least 125w CPU support as it'll be running a 64 X2 6000+. The M3A78 Pro is up on Newegg for $105 + shipping, and it caught my eye just due to the clean layout and what looks like all solid caps.
I don't need SLI/CFX support for this...
No, that wouldn't really be necessary unless your case has poor air flow. You're better off just making sure your case fans are taking care of business. BTW, I know what the pics on Newegg show, but that MSI card does actually take two slots; the second slot has the typical exhaust area, but the...
We ordered one of those for my boss about two weeks ago (last time they were in stock), and it's a great card. The cooling isn't going to do a lot more in terms of how much heat is dumped back into the case (which hasn't been a big problem for any of the 4850s), but the GPU temps are definitely...
I think the only real reason to upgrade, even though these new cards are coming out very strong, is if you are looking to game above 1680 x 1050. Even the stock 8800 GT is a great performer at 1680 x 1050 and most of the gains made by cards like the 4850 at that res are above 60 FPS (and thus...
