is anybody using AMD VSR to play 4K resolution? currently I'm using NV DSR(4K) in
GTA5 and it's so great, apparently outperforms FHD in image quality and shows more
details, but I may perchase a 390(x) when AMD releases its new cards, don't know if
AMD's VSR functions well or not...
a 4 core cpu and middle-to-high end card should do it, depending on how much $ you have.
generally while maxing all settings in games, gpu usually becomes the bottleneck before cpu dries out.
Recently I used NV DSR to play 4K on HD monitor and get quite a good quality of images.
Although it blurred a bit due to the simulating process of 4K resolution, it still felt splendid.
On a real 4K monitor it should be sharp and clear.
I think 4K will replace HD in 2016 or 2017 for most games...
for now 4K is a huge jump for GPUs to handle, even TITAN X is not powerful enough for
some games at highest settings if you want to play smoothly, let's say around 40+ fps.

IMO there are two ways to build a 4K platform

don't know what is the problem with AMD... why don't they give gamers a date to wait?
if they don't want gamers to buy NV's cards, they should give a release date at least.
It seems the driver forces 970 to use 3.5gb instead of 4gb, see the link below.
970 is not an honest product, but while referring to high P/C, it's still a good choice.

heard it's June that AMD cards with HBM will come out, some say it's August,
don't know the correct version. think I'll buy a 980 instead of 390 or 380 if AMD delays
so much...
Also a post-process AA, and based on injectFXAA, injectSMAA seems fine to me.
All use default settings

Like someone said above, static pics cant represent what you see and feel
of the game. A few tests and screenshots cannot tell the whole story, but they refer to
the defect of FXAA, and the posibility to improve and overcome it.
In my opinion, FXAA is a balancer of textures and jaggies...
Some corrections for game engines
1. Wolfenstein 2009 id Tech 4 engine
2. Crysis CryEngine 2
3. Max Payne 3 RAGE engine, also using Euphoria as in-game animation engine
We all know that FXAA plays am important role as a hero against in-game jaggies,
especially for those using deferred shading features. Its a good start to fight those
ugly jaggies, but FXAA also blurs the images and textures, details lost due to FXAA
in charge. So, FXAA is not so perfect as...
