    120 hz IPS panel?

120 hz rate doesn't cause slow response times to go away, it's actually the other way around. A monitor has to have fast response time in order to achieve 120 hz refresh rate. This is why there are no 120 hz IPS panels now and probably in the near future.

    24" IPS monitor recommendations

I have the zr24w and from a gaming perspective I can attest that it has nearly undetectable input lag. It's probably the only 16:10 IPS panel I would recommend for gaming. The U2410 is suppose to be good as well but I haven't seen Dell selling any for less than $600 lately.

    HP ZR24w

No dead or stuck pixels. Mine was brand new.

Have TN based monitors gotten a lot better?

TN panels have the best response time and newer models come with 120 hz refresh rate, which allows for 3D gaming if that's your thing.

    $1200 to spend. Tri-monitor or 30inch ips?

Even at $600, the U2410s are selling like hotcakes and Dell has trouble keeping their inventory stocked (they aren't shipping any more till next month). I wouldn't expect any discount coupons for this monitor any time soon. The ZR24w is sold out at most retailers but there was an HP store on...

    HP ZR24w

Ok so here's some quick impressions. Just briefly, I do an equal mix of web surfing, document work, gaming, and photo editing. As far as games go, I'm an avid first-person shooter fan so I have to pay special attention to response time and input delay. My old monitor is a Samsung 226bw. -...

    $1200 to spend. Tri-monitor or 30inch ips?

You can do a 3x hp ZR24w setup for $1200 exact. These are pretty nice 1920x1200 (16:10) IPS panels that will go well together side-by-side or in multi-portrait. I would avoid the 3x1080 (16:9) setups since they look unnaturally short.

looking for 1920x1200, is U2410 it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-HP-ZR24w-24-LCD-S-IPS-1920x1200-VM633A4-VM633A8-/200551255989?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item2eb1c94fb5 Whoa, when I bought it yesterday he had 10 left, now there's only 4.

    Why no/little 2133x1200 resolution monitors?

Well 2133 doesn't seem like a big enough jump from 1920x1200. I think the next step up is 2560x1600. Unfortunately there are already a couple panels in 2560x1440 so it looks like 16:9 will continue to plague us even beyond 1080p.

looking for 1920x1200, is U2410 it?

You should look into the HP ZR24w as well. I just ordered one from an HP store on eBay.

    HP ZR24w

Well I decided to go with the ZR24w over the U2410. Looks like there aren't any 20% coupon deals for the U2410 and so it's selling for $600 minimum. In addition Dell isn't shipping any till January. I like the U2410 but I'm not sure its worth the $200 premium over the HP offering (I only do...

    Dell U2410

Sadly, there aren't many 24-25" TN-based LCDs that comes in the 16:10 ratio resolution of 1920x1200.

    Dell U2410

That's too bad. I can barely justify paying $100 more than the HP ZR24w, but not $200 more.

    Dell U2410

It's kind of depressing that Dell doesn't have any deals for the U2410 this christmas season. Still going for $600 and none of the coupons will apply. I'm under the impression that most people here got their's for under $500 new. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

    Dell U2410

I wonder if the U2410 is the last 16:10 monitor that Dell will make in its size. They've already released 23" and 27" IPS monitors in 16:9. The latter is even 2560x1440 (instead of 1600) so it seems like they're really pushing 16:9 even beyond 1920 resolution, which is pretty sad.
