    Scratch-Built: Glowboxen.

I've finished a lot of the frame, and the endcaps have been roughed out of .1" Al. I'm kind of waiting until my neighbors wake up to turn on the power tools and work on it; ~14tpi blades+1/10" Al = BIG LOUD VIBRATIONS. This one's turning out to be nice and light, BTW. Large...

More CAD work. It's nothing special, just hand-cut stock plastic, tapped 6063 Al angle, and black-oxide 8-32s...but hopefully the four 12" blue cold cathodes shining through will make the case. Large: http://flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=75492617&size=o Large...

    Scratch-Built: Glowboxen.

I've got quite a bit of framing work done- the UHMW for the top and bottom enclosures is cut to size, and the angle has been cut, drilled and tapped- I've basically got the top and bottom ends together. Next up is bribing machinists. I've made a page for this project over on my site...

Been waiting on parts, and they're here! Building will commence tonight, as the new mobo's here.

    Scratch-Built: Glowboxen.

Yeah. I decided to redesign it- it's a tower now. Same materials, much less wasted space. pics and ongoing updates are over at my log: http://www.vrogy.com/blog I built the first joint today, I ended up using a bunch of big, black 10-32 pan head philips machine screws I got awhile back and...

    Scratch-Built: Glowboxen.

http://flickr.com/photos/vrogy/sets/1211047/ CAD got tedious, so I've decided to "just do it". Here's some pics of the UHMW when backed by cathodes. I'm thinking one per side slantways aall in one direction, then perhaps four or five fans in the top to continue the pattern of sameness...

    Scratch-Built: Glowboxen.

Well, folks, if we're thinking in 3 dimensions(which the real world happens to exist in, for practical purposes), six squares make a cube. As for the quicklaunch- I don't use my desktop. It's blank black. Here's what I've got on it: Firefox, DeadAIM, SolidWorks, WinAmp, Limewire(don't use...

    Solid Works?? Anyone?!!?!

ProE = shyte, in my experience. The UI blows, [H]ard. Solidworks is great, especially the 2005 version. It's out there. I use it to design robots mostly... In my experience, it's good not to get carried away with CAD- you need to eventually get off the screen, so only CAD the basics of a...

    FS: Milled Al case.

Send me your hardware, I adapt it to a solidly built metal case of my own design. I guarantee everything I make to be sweet. I mill plates, wirebrush everything to a smooth sheen.. I love my metal- you will, too. http://vrogy.com/case1/ ^that's my most recent work. I'm looking forward to...

    Scratch-Built Aluminum Case

Heh, almost forgot about this. My deadline is looming near, Thursday of next week, and I still need to make a couple port-covers and vent-holes... But I have everything vital in, and the drive blinders are drying outside. http://vrogy.com/case1/ I'm trying this linked thumbnails...

    Scratch-Built Aluminum Case

I got the LED fans in the mail and installed them.. they're beastly. I took some video, here'tis: http://vrogy.com/case1/milledcase%20215.MOV http://vrogy.com/case1/milledcase%20216.MOV http://vrogy.com/case1/milledcase%20217.MOV I've also got the the HDD shock-mount/cooler bolted...

    ON3 Up....

Looks neat, but all your drawings don't convey the concept very well... If you get interested in doing any lasercut/waterjetted parts, I have the know-how to make DXFs for cutting from any sketches you have, and I'm damn good at 3D CAD, too: http://www.vrogy.com/CAD/tbox_n_wheel.JPG...
