Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
lol, I love all the people bagging the game because their Q6600 ( >2 year old hardware) is bottlenecking.
It's an incredibly good looking game at max settings with ridiculous map sizes filled with AI - heck even the wildlife in the game has simple AI.
This game is both CPU and GPU intensive...
Well for the sake of another opinion, I think it may be worth going to i7 at this point in time as I'm sure you could get rid of your current CPU/MB/Ram for a decent amount.
Wait any longer and you'll be losing value on your current setup. Not to mention the X58 chipset has a lot of life in it...
OP Here:
In typical fashion, my inner impulse-buyer went ahead without my consent and decided on an i7 920 upgrade.
I actually managed to get an Asus P6T Deluxe with 3 x 1GB G.Skill 1600Mhz ram for AU$350.
Convert that to american dollars and it'd be something like $220 (electronics in America...
To be honest, replacing the motherboard is a massive chore and will undoubtedly require a clean format. I've got almost 300gb of files installed on this PC which are critical for university & work.
I'd rather wait and build a decent overclocker on a current platform like X58/55.
Thanks for the input everybody, I think I might just hold off and make my decision after i5 comes out.
Not worth spending money if you're not going to get 100% benefit from it.
Hey all, just got a fairly simple question that hopefully someone who's been in a similar situation can assist with.
My specs are as following:
e6400 (2.13Ghz)
Intel DP965LT
4GB DDR2-800
Asus HD4870 512mb
Zalman 500W Ultra Efficient PSU
Basically my dilemma stems from the fact that...
This is a pretty odd problem, but I'm going to have to go with the above poster and say it's the game developers fault on this one, not your cards.
Which game is that by the way? Might want to make a post on their forums as well.
I don't understand what all the fuss about Crysis is about.
I run it at 1900x1200 on a modest HD4870 512mb and with the CCC Mod I think it looks as good as the default very high settings. Although I do run it on DX9, that may be giving me a 5-10% performance boost.
Can anybody find a good review of the core i7's performance with Empire: Total War?
I've searched google and the same crappy benchmark with "14 CPU's" keeps popping up with no regard to the Test System specifications or game settings.
Core i7 is advertised on the games start-up, so I'm assuming...
