Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
^ MI, eh?
Man I have family there and all I keep hearing about are huge power outages this month! I was thinking to myself "I sure am glad I am not mining in MI"
Have you been affected by them or are you okay? My family lives in Genessee county
OP: Most of the people that say things like "you can make more profit by buying the coins and selling later than by mining" are said by miners who don't want you to jump aboard and increase their mining difficulty, thereby reducing their profits. Hint: It's VERY profitable.
lol 9 blocks found yesterday!! so much fattie cash stacks... nom
mkrohns comment confuses me- because up until late november this pool actually had a historically better-than-average record. you can see this in the pool stats, and it also showed in my wallet over summer. PLUS, the better...
^ (1) A guy potentially watercooling 50 R9 290's is not going to radiate the heat into the room he is mining in, he's going to plumb it outside. That should be obvious. It's one of the main benefits of going to water for his household setup, other than being able to compact the entire...
Great start, OP.
So many people underestimate the dedication and time it takes to run a farm and maintain it.
Everyone instantly shunning waterblocking the whole setup hasn't had 50+ cards before.
Everyone instantly saying use A/C hasn't had 50 cards before.
If you wanna talk to some...
jzegers has ran a pool for [h] for a long time. used to be invasion and then got upgraded to coinhuntr and is top notch. 1% fee but for me personally the uptime and < 1% stales makes it win out vs pools with "0%" fee but like 3% stales. YMMV. I have been mining on his pool since april and...
I'll try to message John and have him post here to clear up any confusion related to "lost" coins. I'm sure he will be able to get everything sorted with anyone who has issues
yes calculators just go off of difficulty and hashrates.. but do not take into account inefficient pools (stales/rejects) or the inherent high number of stales/rejects/orphans/whateveryouwanttocallit associated with alt coins that have extremely fast average block solving times (WDC, DGC, etc)
^ generally errors above intensity 13 on scrypt mining are bcause you haven't done a high enough thread concurrency ... check earlier in the thread for the set_gpu_max_alloc command and then auto generate the bin file and it should pop out a TC between 20000-24000; use whatever it gives you...
well yeah, that is what i am talking about. profits over electricity costs. he said mining today will never ever pay off -- he did NOT say that buying new hardware today would never pay off.
I feel like we are arguing in circles about nothing. LOL :( so... i'm done! long live...
I reiterate: If his blanket statement is true, and mining today will never, EVER pay off, then why are thousands of people still mining, right now? The answer: Because it is paying off for them. People don't just throw money away for the fun of it.
[Personally, it's paying off for me...
Bottom line is that if "Bitcoin mining today will never, EVER pay off", then nobody would do it, and everyone would stop mining.
.... yeah... pretty sure that is not true at all.
