Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Actually using Dox modified mobile drivers now since i've had the best luck with them.
Also the notebook drivers from the nvidia site won't install without a modded inf on this laptop.
Has anyone ran into compatibility issues with XP on this laptop? I can't seem to run COD4 without a reboot or lockup in-game. Its not an overheating issue, i've done the monitoring trying to figure this out. I have another partition with Vista x64 Ultimate which runs the game all night long but...
I'll try a notebook cooler I guess and see how it does. This video fan is annoying as hell. I sold my dual xeon desktop because of fan noise and I seriously think this laptop is just as loud with the fan running like this all the time.
So I raised it off of the desk about an inch and I still get the temp/fan speed fluctuations. BUT when I play COD4 the temp is only going up to 60-65 now instead of 85 like it was before the thermal paste.
I picked up a m7700 from a guy on the forum and it runs too hot. The video card fan wasn't mounted flush and kept the OS from loading. Now it boots up fine but the video fan runs on high all the time with temp at 55 celsius idle. after sitting idle for a while the fan shuts off at 54, then the...
Sorry about that, I had my system set to boot from XP and for some reason it worked fine after I formatted the Vista partition. I also out of habit install older versions of OS first.
To be safe these are someone elses instructions............
Load into XP and format the partition Vista is...
You can get the specific drivers you need from HP website if you use the service tag number on the bottom of the laptop. XP 64bit is faster than Vista 64bit and you can use the Vista64 drivers for XP64. Vista is supposed to speed up eventually after it optimizes itself but I didn't like Vista...
You can only choose the default boot system from within Vista. Vista is a pig that wants full control, so your boot options will have to be changed from within Vista. I did read that installing Vista as secondary will allow you to change or create a partition next to XP without losing anything...
I remember the old days of copying tapes. I knew a lot of poorer people that would give copies of tapes out for Xmas. I setup an A/V system for some rich old fart and got to check out a rack of 10 cheapo VCRs that he used to make 10 VHS copies at once. Mono sound and all that. The whole thing...
I read a nice article from one of the activision developers when COD4 came out. He said it was amazing how many pirate copies were playing online. He brought up the idea that some games that do have %90 pirate online players are only good enough that people will play for free. But if they do an...
Punkbuster doesn't catch the hacks playing through a proxy. I recently left the SOF2 game for COD4 and see the same kind of undetectable hack. Not real common but undetectable. The guys that run the proxies usually make the exe hacks that get sent out and get detected within a week or 2.
I had the screenlag which looked like 15fps even though i was getting up to 200fps. I use an agp 7800 and had to enable the multigpu setting in my cfg for the problem to go away. Other than that try going to bashandslash.com and try their cfg settings to speed up fps.
