2003: Nvidia 5600
2004: Nvidia 6800gt
2008: Nvidia 8800gts (512mb)
201X: ???
Man, seems like I'm an nvidia fanboy. The first purchase was just stupid because I didn't know anything about computers at the time (ATI 9600 > Nvidia 5600), and was told to go with Nvidia, but the subsequent two...
I want a copy of this game, Just beCause
It looks really fun, and I don't need to worry about laws.
So much fun can be had blowing up planes and cars
I could do it in red faction... but that would be on mars.
I want to shoot at the city and hear the tires screech
or maybe just go...
Looks pretty good. I also wouldn't recommend getting a 24" LCD because I have one and it's just not worth the price over a 22" LCD unless you like to sit really far away. So good decision on that one.
You should be able to use 1680x1050 all high with some tweaks set to very high. Make sure you use dx9!!! This is incredibly important. There is 0 visual quality improvement between dx9 and dx10, and all the dx10 very high goodies can be added through autoexec tweaks.
My recommendation...
I want to see Crysis very high benchmarks at 1920x1200 using dx9 instead of dx10. It makes such a massive performance difference at no loss in visual quality.
DeathAdder is AWESOME. I bought one a couple weeks ago and I'm really digging it. It was kind of weird to get used to at first (for me, because I had been using a standard ms mouse my whole life), but the first thing you will notice is the unparalleled comfort. I don't have any problems at...
^ I agree 100% I don't know what kind of performance he's expecting to get, but for $200 it will be unreasonably low. Just a matter of playing the waiting game. Can't be impatient with computer parts.
When I think about it, steam is the most likely solution to stop piracy. If you have your game exclusively available on steam or need to register through steam, it's fairly unlikely that your average joe will go about pirating. It also allows you the benefit of not needing a disk to play...
wow!!! I am extremely impressed with ATI this generation, it looks like they are finally back in the game. If the 4870x2 doesn't have micro-stuttering it will be pretty hard to pass up. Hell, even the 4870 vanilla is hard to pass up for $300. This is the kind of performance we should expect...
Not to be mr. negative towards everyones comments, but you made a valid point towards the wrong conclusion. ^ latest version of source engine. Means that he will probably be able to max it with an 8800gts 320. Source engine has never been particularly demanding no matter how big the map is or...
lmfao? Spore? Spore looks like it could probably run maxed on a 9800 pro.
With the 8800gts 320, it's a tough call though... If anything I would wait for the 4870 unless you have wads of cash laying around.
