    Intel I7 920 / upgrade ?

Bump! My i7 920 which is happily running at 3.33GHz base -> 3.48GHz Turbo. It's a C0 and I don't plan on ever doing water-cooling so I won't take it further. In order to keep the whole system current, I changed the video cards over the years, and that seemed to have done the trick. Started...

BF4 - Antialiasing Post - Yay or Nay - Vote and Discuss

I recall that in the BF3 image quality article, AA Post was preferred. So, that's how I played it for 2 years, all Ultra + AA Deferred Off + AA Post High. http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/11/02/battlefield_3_single_player_performance_iq_review/8 I wonder what has changed now to cause...

    Battlefield 4 **Official Discussion Thread**

I have the same issue, it was a flicker of disco colour for those texture panels. Also the framerate was about 50% worse than BF3 at the same settings. Though, I was not using today's Game Ready driver. Just installed that so will be trying again. Despite that issue, I toughed it out in my...

    Another What-to-Get: 6870 CFX to 6950 CFX? 7970 / GTX 680?

Despite the recent price drops on the 7970 3GB, decided to go with Team Green this time around :) Now I'm the owner of an MSI GeForce GTX 680! To keep things smooth I've been playing my games at 1680x1050, so I look forward to putting the display back to native 1920x1200 and putting Motion...

    Another What-to-Get: 6870 CFX to 6950 CFX? 7970 / GTX 680?

Thanks for the replies. My system currently has 12GB DDR3 @ 1280MHz. I'm definitely looking at picking up an SSD for OS + 2 games, especially now that the 120GB prices have dropped to around $120 in my neck of woods. Just that, my OS + all applications + all games are currently on a 1TB...

    Skyrim impressions

Got introduced to Elder Scrolls by Morrowind, then also finished Oblivion, so I guess me getting Skyrim is inevitable. I was waiting for the AMD driver glitch (especially CrossfireX as my rig runs 2x Radeon 6870s) to get sorted, the price to get kinda lower than $59.99 and also for my credit...

    Battlefield 3 Preview Performance Preview @ [H]

Are you sure? I'm under the impression that BF3 doesn't even have non-DX11 code paths, so the game won't even run on any video card that doesn't support DX11. That means GeForce 4xx+ and ATI 5xxx+.

    Battlefield 3 Preview Performance Preview @ [H]

Thanks for the preview performance preview. I spent about 3hrs tweaking all the settings trying to get it running acceptable AND to get rid of the stuttering. The preview article and this thread provided pretty much everything I needed. Thanks so much. Can't wait to get home and to implement the...

    Corsair: 650D

Woohoo! 2 years on with the Coolermaster CM 690, now the proud owner of the Corsair 650D :-) Didn't have much complaints with the CM 690... until I picked up another Radeon 6870 to CrossFire. As you can see, there's not enough PCI slots in the back for a double-slot video card to use...

Dragon Age 2 Cat 11.4 Morphological AA Issue?

System spec, though I don't think it makes much difference.... Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.33GHz Gigabyte EX58-UD4P XFX 6870 CrossfireX Cat 11.4 For Dragon Age 2, I'm running 1920x1200, 16x AF, Very High, all options checked. In-game AA off, CCC set to 16x AF Override App Setting, AA Use App...

Dragon Age 2 Gameplay Performance Review @ [H]

I have the Steam version, running on 1920x1200, Very High, all options checked (with high-res texture) with 6870 CF (Catalyst 11.2) and i7 920 @ 3.33GHz. 16x AF but no in-game AA. Using MLAA instead. So far I'm getting 38fps to the 60fps VSYNC ceiling. That's faster than Origins so no complaints...

    6870 Catalyst 10.10 + GTA4 - No Water and Stutters

Great, at least that means I'm not crazy and imagining things :p I don't think I can "roll back" to 10.9, as much as I'd like to, because I don't think 68xx are supported by it :( Oh well, I don't REALLY have to play that now, as much as I'd like to.... Believe it or not, the reason why...

    6870 Catalyst 10.10 + GTA4 - No Water and Stutters

Catalyst 10.10. My last ATI card was an X800XT in a Northwood P4 system, and the GTX 285 was the first and only video card on the current rig since I built it, so there wouldn't be any old AMD drivers on this computer :D Just did that Driver Sweeper thing from Guru3D, cleaned up NVIDIA video...
