Yeah, I heard about the light bleeding off on the Dell U2412M, but I figured I don't play in the dark, so it shouldn't be a big deal.
I didn't bite yet, though. It occurred to me last night that it's been a while since I cleaned out my computer and maybe my video cards were just getting a...
Greetings!
I was lucky enough about 4 years ago to get my hands on an exceedingly rare BenQ FP241vw monitor and enjoyed the heck out of it. I'm sold on A-MVA technology because of it, it offers the perfect compromise of color accuracy and performance for gaming without sacrificing crappy...
Thanks VulcaN. It's a good thing I have an extra HDMI cable lying around. I'm pretty eager to play my games and shows from the PC using the stereo set-up I have. I'm too lazy to do it now, but I'll do it over the weekend. Slightly concerned about lag and audio delay, but I bought an...
Hi,
I just got my mini-HDMI to HDMI cable from monoprice today and was eager to test it out and connected my video card to the HDTV. I'm happy that it works, period.
What bothers me just a little bit is that I can't seem to find a way to switch between displays as I intend to use the HDTV...
I played Crysis 64-bit wonderfully. Modern Warfare? No problem (the first one). Portal 2, Need for Speed...check and check.
But when I try to play Grim Fandango, a beloved classic that only requires a 2 mb video card, my rig can't take it and promptly freezes (wow, remember those days?)...
Not that I'm terribly concerned or anything, but I'm curious if anyone out there has had the issue of one card running at least 10 C hotter (sometimes as much as 15) than the other card in SLI configuration (mine read mid-40s vs low 30s). Thankfully, of course, the fan kicks in and the hotter...
Oh yeah, forgot about the input lag, I was thinking of response times, my mistake. For the record, BenQ's FP241VW monitor employs AMVA panel technology. The built-in settings on the monitor deals with the input lag very nicely. Too bad BenQ discontinued it.
I echo the sentiment about how each setup is different, and I think mine is a bit different that I need to add just a little more juice to get up to 4.5. If I had to guess, it's a slight limitation of the motherboard I have (Gigabyte's Z68X-UD3H-B3). It's not a huge limitation, though, because...
Hmm, I'll have to play around with the voltage settings a bit then, inch it up towards 1.4 and determine the best stable setting and leave it there.
I can't believe how easily I got to 4.4, this is probably the best CPU I've bought!
*edit*
Alright, ran standard IBT at 4.5 on 1.38 vCore, seems...
I like to think I have one of the best gaming displays out there, the BenQ FP241VW, but these are nearly impossible to find for sale, and when you do find one, be prepared to break the bank if you really, really want it. I got lucky when I got mine for a bargain price of about $300 a few years...
Hi all,
I'm almost exactly where I want to be in regards to oc'ing my CPU to 4.5. I'm currently at 4.4 with 1.35 vCore, everything else is stock or auto. I ran standard IBT at 4.4 and it runs fine. I don't want to run the longer version until 4.5, so when I upped it to that, of course it froze...
Holy....in the 90s?!? What's your board? Case? I use an Antec Twelve Hundred with 7 fans running through the sucker and has plenty of room for those oversized double-slot video cards and it makes a difference (my 460 GTXs in SLI don't really go over 60 much when gaming/under load). So consider a...
Yeah, I can see the logic behind that, and I just educated myself a little bit more on what exactly is doing this and found out it's the C1E Enhanced Halt state and probably the C3/C6 state support too. So, if I wanted to, I could turn those off and let my CPU run overclocked all the time...
I suppose that's not a bad thing. So the overclock would kick in if I ran demanding apps (like gaming)?
Could I turn off the power saving feature? Would you recommend it? All these newfangled features are totally alien to me, I'm still used to thinking in 680i chipset terms! The Z68 appears to...
