eh, you're right such a tough decision... a crapshoot it seems...I think I'll just live with this screen for another year and hopefully some better technology is on the horizon. Maybe some plasma-like technology for computer screens -- sounds like those TVs have amazing color richness as well...
What do you guys recommend for a panel technology to go for that gives the best performance in dark games? According to the stickied guide, P-MVA is the best choice for "darkest blacks" but I've read that dark details are lost on these panels which makes it perhaps the worst option! Thanks again!
I'm thinking about the Dell 2007WFP for gaming and web browsing. I'm currently using an NEC MultiSync LCD1970GX but it's got the glossy screen which is killing me. I understand my current screen is a TN panel -- are the black levels likely to be better (and by better I largely mean darker) on...
Okay, I've now answered all of my questions! The 2007WFP has both a 1:1, 4:3, and Normal mode. Therefore you can run in a lower resolution, take up the maximum amount of space on the screen while preserving the 4:3 aspect ratio. sweet!
Well I read further down the page in another 225bw thread that it appears not to have any option for 1:1 mode. My other question still stands though -- do any LCDs let you preserve the aspect ratio and still stretch the image?
I'm also curious about the 225bw -- does it have the 1:1 option? Also, when people refer to 1:1, they always mean absolutely no stretching right? Are there any widescreen LCDs that have a mode for preserving the aspect ratio but still stretching to fill the screen vertically?
Thanks!
Hey guys,
I just ordered a Connect3D x1800 GTO last night from NewEgg. What are the risks in trying to flash it to get 16 pipes. I'm a little scared because I just broke a perfectly good x800 pro and I'd hate to put TWO nice cards in the trash :-) If I flash it and it cannot unlock the...
That's exactly what I was thinking when I first started playing Doom3. System Shock 2 is my favorite game of all time. I have also played the first one, but only after the second. System Shock 1 was immensely enjoyable too, however, and I didn't play that 1995-ish until about 2001. So anyone...
