DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I've gone from a Black Ridge w/ A12x15 and VLP ram to L9a + duct on my Dan A4 so I could use faster RAM. I try to get low to mid 80s as a max temp when doing small FFTs on Prime 95. In both cases the only change I made was to turn on PBO and play around with max PPT as offset voltage isn't...

SENTRY: Console-sized gaming PC case project

I'm holding out for the Asus XG17. Haven't heard anything since Computex though and you just know it won't be cheap but it looks the goods.

Why does manufacturer put dust filter on top outflow fan, but not on rear outflow fan?

It's on top to prevent dust falling into the system should there not be a fan installed or for when the system is off. This isn't necessary for the rear fan as dust cannot naturally fall into the opening.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I've had both coolers before, with the LP53 fan replaced with the Noctua 92mm PWM and the LP53 performs slightly better temp wise. Definitely worth a shroud as well.

That's push mode. Meaning pushing air through the radiator. You'll get better performance in pull mode, pulling fresh air through the side panel and heatsink. I also got improved temps sealing the gap between the fan and heatsink. You can use electrical tape or make a paper shroud, etc.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I too installed a 3700x and a Black Ridge with 120mm fan. In my case on the Aorus B450 board. That cooler truly is a PITA to install. firstly I had to cut off the edge of the install brackets as they were sitting on some motherboard components. Secondly, as the screws move in the bracket to...

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

Agreed. You'll be blowing air directly over the M.2 and chipset anyways with this cooler.

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

You should be able to remove the M.2 / chipset heatsink / cooling fan above the PCI-e port. I was waiting to see if that would be possible before getting this board myself but I've now decided that I don't need the 12C chip, either the 3700X or 3800X will do me, so settled on the Gigabyte B450...

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

I did one page back. Compared V2 with 120mm fan.

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

Been busy AF at work lately, so haven't gotten round to it. I don't have a 3D printer myself, so I don't want to stuff up like my first prototype (it was too small) as the cost quickly adds up.

The v2 will eventually be available from OverclockersUK, which ships to the US. At the moment it is only available from Caseking, which does not ship to the US.

No just the standard v1. No mods or anything.

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

You're right about the colouring of the black ridge. The box shows the black matte painting but it is indeed a more subtly coating like you said. Couple photos below. I will do some more testing with the duct off and get back to you. I've just designed a small 3D model that should work. If...

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

I have an update regarding the duct you'll be happy to hear and have just completed testing. So below is a photo of my duct. A mere piece of cardboard on one side and taped off ventilation holes on the other. So now the Blackridge is getting fresh air only and the cardboard is sitting flush with...
