Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'd jump on a Pascal laptop, a mobile 1080 still performs fantastic at 1440p. I thought about upgrading to an RTX 2080 in my Sager but the performance difference is so little...
I'm curious if this has EC-regulated total system power controls. If it does, the GPU will be throttled pretty heavily as well. So much hope for AW to step up but the 136W TDP really shows they won't despite putting K series desktop CPU's in their DTR.
I think you made the right choice. You will be amazed at how much you can modify these things if you wanted to. Here soon I am thinking about a new motherboard and 8700k upgrade to my Sager. I don't think we will be seeing any new high end mobile GPU offerings any time soon with the issues...
Origin is a re branded Clevo. If you're truly looking for a desktop replacement, then out of these two, that's the way to go. Highly recommend flashing a Prema bios once you receive it.
I've had several high end M17's and M18's from Alienware as well as a GT72 Dominator from MSI and I must say my current Sager/Clevo has been the one I'm most happy with. I've been a desktop replacement guy for years now and it's a shame you aren't able to customize the new AW/MSI's like you used...
This forum isn't the one to ask about gaming laptops.. it seems most here are against them after reading threads over the past few years. Try Notebookreview.
I am currently on my third gaming laptop and love it. I've had an Alienware M18x, MSI GT70, and now a Sager/Clevo and love it the most...
Went from a FX5200 to a 6800GT on my desktop many years ago..
Recently upgraded from a 780m gpu MSI laptop to a Sager with a 1080 in it.. mind blown once again.
It was straight luck. He was asking $850 for it and I said I would pick it up for $400 cash that day if I watched it boot into Windows and verified the hardware. Not even 15 minutes after I sent him that message we met up. I checked it over and there was no damage cosmetically. His reasoning for...
Very informative replies. I see the reasoning behind the Pro being so expensive is the 4k screen. There's definitely cheaper alternatives out there for a 1080 equipped laptop if you're gonna hook it up to an external monitor, anyway. But you're looking at a little thicker and heavier notebook as...
