I think the red of the rust on the truck on the left is a little too strong and detracts from the truck in the foreground. Other than that I think it looks great.
You're right, they do look a little soft. I ran a sharpen filter but had no idea what the unsharp mask did. I played around with the usm filter for a bit and ran it over all the pics. It gives the effect I was trying to achieve with the sharpen filter but without all the noise. Thanks for the...
Here's a quick description: http://www.photographycorner.com/photography-digital-camera-macro.php . The button to access it usually looks like a flower. I have found that it helps ot get as close as possible. Remember, you can always crop out stuff you don't want.
Thanks for the great photo compliment! For those pics I didn't use zoom at all. For most of them I just mounted the camera to a tripod and set it to macro mode.
