CORRECTION........problem not solved!!!!! mx518 sucks!!!! or at least the drivers do. still having same problem. I bailed on this mouse!!!! Picked up a MS X5 Gaming Mouse, and that one is working great.

Problem solved. Latency issue caused by EasyTune6 which is an overclocking utility that came with my mobo. Apparently is disrupts MX518. I removed the program and the mouse works again. Coincidentally, Volucris' mobo is also made by Gigabyte. I wonder if EasyTune6 is the cause of their mouse...
