Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
That's called artifacts...
100% GPU related.
Sounds like EVGA Support is bs'ing you.
Only way to rule out your GPU, is if you tried another card and still have same issue.
Looks like you were right!
Ended up re-seating my RAM and I haven't had a crash since!
I guess I can blame my MoBo really, since it doesn't have a lock-switch on both sides of the RAM, only one side.. Fail design >.>
But I'm sitting here stable at 4.5GHz, 1.335Vcore, 1.7PLL. :)
And of course I...
You might be able to get an HX750 from Ebay for around that much.
Or if you trust used ones, I'm sure someone from here can sell you an HX750 for around there too.
I'm going to try and loosen the RAM timings from stock to see if the RAM is a bad set.
But it does pass Memtest86, so I don't know about that.
If that doesn't work, I'll probably contact ASUS and see if they have any advise or information for me.
Problem is, the 2500k has 2x the L2 and L3 cache, so essentially, it's different architecture.
I'd still like to see a bench between the two at same clock speeds.
Hard to say since there are no processors to test this theory on.
For the average gamer, you don't need the 8 threads, but if you're into video rendering and encoding, then it'll definitely help and be a noticeable difference.
Well I was still getting hard crashes even at stock settings for everything, so I replaced the PSU with a new HX850, and I'm still having same issue.
Thoughts on what it could be?
