Such disappointing news. Nvidia needs some competition desperately and i was hoping amd would step up much faster than this. Nvidia has already released the gtx 960, 970, and 980. Pretty much low-mid end right up to high end, and AMD - Goose Egg (0). Just so disappointing.
Hey thanks for the insight. So i'm so excited for this monitor to come in, do you love it? The 1 big factor that was holding me back at first was the TN panel, in your experience how is the TN panel on the acer compared to any ips panel you've experienced? It really came down to 2 4k monitors...
That all sounds excellent. Thanks so much for all that info and help. My acer is do in tomorrow and i'm pretty excited. I also can't wait for gta v on pc, especially what it's gonna look like in comparison to the ps4 and xb1 versions.
Thanks for the help. You figure with all these vram intensive games coming out that we would see some higher end video cards with at least 6GB GDDR5 on the regular but nope. I'm holding out hope that we might see a GTX 980ti with 8GB vram really soon at least sometime before summer.
EDIT: there...

Hey so i have a i7 4790k and a EVGA Z97 classified and 2 EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 running in SLI and i just ordered the Acer XB280HK bprz 3840x2160 G-Sync monitor. My question is, do you guys think that i will be able to run most modern games at high-ultra with this setup? I'm asking this because...
I know right. It's really unbelievable that MSI and EVGA still do not offer there cards stock with backplates. At least you can usually buy EVGA backplates separately but they should still include them with a GPU when bought new.
