Alright, it's been a while since I've done this, so I may be a little off.
Anyway.. on a 2way you're losing like 6 or 7dbm.. on a 3 or 4 way, you're gonna lose 13-14dbm.
I'd run RG6 to the box outside, throw a 2way on it and run that back to your modem.

I just recieved my free CD's in the mail. They're pretty spiffy... a nicely printed cd case holding a live cd on one side and an installation cd on the other.
I picked up 5 of em, messed around with the live CD, it's a pretty decent setup.
