I guess it's not the hard drive then. I just tested it using parkdale and got 67 mb/s write speed and 74 mb/s read speed.

PC randomly shut off and won't turn on!

ugh, it's just one issue after the next it seems. When windows boots up and you first see those little circles that come together to make the windows logo, it's going like in slow motion, not fluid at all, and then it just hangs on the "starting windows" screen for an eternity. I've tried to...

PC randomly shut off and won't turn on!

yes, same thing happened. I went out and bought a new mobo and everything seems to be in working order. Now windows won't boot up which I'm guessing is due to the motherboard change, so I'm going to reformat the hdd, reinstall windows and go from there. Thanks guys!

PC randomly shut off and won't turn on!

there's nothing connected to the mobo except 1 stick of 4gb ram, the cpu, and 1 case fan. the video card is not connected which should take up most of the power. Shouldn't the system power up with that much power?

PC randomly shut off and won't turn on!

well, I unplugged everything except 1 ram stick, the case power switch, a case fan, and the 24 pin connector. Now, when I press the power button on the case the fans spin for about a second, then turn off. Any idea what this could possibly mean?

PC randomly shut off and won't turn on!

the old psu in there was a 700w OCZ. I think that one failed so I bought a new psu (460w). Is it possible that the old OCZ(700w) failed and the new PSU (460w) is just not enough that it won't even power up the system?

Hey guys, I've encountered a very strange problem with my pc. My computer has been running smoothly without a hitch since I built it (about 2-3 months), but today it randomly shut off and will not turn back on. It happened while I was playing the old republic and I unplugged my usb mouse, not...
