Wow, the E1505/6400 sure is a popular laptop recently :D
So for the umpteenth time:
I paid $739 thru the outlet for the one in my sig. The one you have spec'd out there has a few more options, are they worth it? That's your call.
I recommend the outlet to anyone. Same warranty, better...
Well, I got a
Core2Duo T5600 1.83 GHz
1 GB RAM
x1300
80 GB HD
DVD Burner
Wireless
WXGA with trulife
For $739 + shipping from the outlet.
Are your upgrades worth the difference? I don't know - that processor was pretty pricey when I was shopping.
I have almost the same thing, but with the DVD burner and a Core2Duo as in my sig. Also came with the 9 cell and Media Center w/ the free upgrade to Vista. Paid $739 + shipping through the outlet.
Over on the notebook forums, they claim it's more around 1GB, but I don't know. Mine is gone, and Dell never sent me a mediadirect disc. I'm too lazy to ask for one.
Seriously, how long does it really take just to boot the damn thing?
Watch out, if you have Mediadirect you will lose it if you delete partitions and format. Mediadirect needs its own partition separate from the main one you run windows on.
Oh, and I took someones advice here, ditched McAfee and tried avg/zonealarm, zonealarm gave me some massive lag spikes...
It was my understanding that both the radeon cards share system memory... i.e. my "128MB"(x1300) is actually only 64, and the "256MB" (x1400) had only 128.
That being said, mine runs BF2142 pretty smooth on low settings, just gets a hair choppy when I'm standing close to an explosion. Better...
