    You can try hot swapping. Set an extended desktop to a resolution the HDMI TV can use. Run the main display on the monitor and plug in the HDMI dongle to extended port. It should work, at the very least it should clone the main desktop onto the HDMI like mine does. What drivers are you using?

    Yes, it works for me. You need to enable the extended desktop for the second display even if it's a monitor or TV via HDMI. To make the desktop text appear sharper make sure the TV is running in it's native resolution.

    Go for a GPU with more than 512mb f you plan to play on a high resolution screen like that. I would suggest a 4850/4870 1GB model for you.

    What drivers are you using? 8.12 (even if it didnt work for some people) gave my 4850s MUCH better performance in Crysis and Crysis Warhead, both "smoothness" and FPS were greatly improved. Also @ 1280x1024 the strain on you GPU might have been so low that powerplay was being triggered...

    I went back and looked at my benchmarks from Crysis and I admit the biggest change when I OC'd the CPU to 4.0 Ghz was in the minimum FPS. Still, with tweaking Crysis should be able to run 'high" @ 55 fps @ 19x12 on the 4870x2.

    I'm pretty sure that E8400 @ stock is a huge bottleneck for an X2 especially in a CPU sensitive game like Crysis.

    Did you have better performance with Catalyst 8.11? Try renaming the game to TRL.exe. My 4850 CF setup is getting much better numbers than that but you didnt mention the resolution you playing at either.
