..going from 2x SLI GTX 260 Core 216 896MB OC 677core 1089mem
to
1x Single Sapphire 7970 HD OC Dual-X 3GB? (I do intend to OC this)
Nothing compares the 260 and the 7970 since the 260 is so old. Not even just framerates to me, but since the 260 there have been advancements in GFX technology...
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was hoping to hear.
Anything else you can say? Any other games in particular that you enjoy playing on your rig?
Hm. Well, I've got the monitors already anyway, and having 3x monitors is a godsend for audio engineering, so regardless I'll be good with my monitor setup. Yeah, perhaps a year or two down the line I'll get another 670 and just enjoy single display for now.
It would suck though having to...
Thats good to hear! Do you enjoy playing Surround on it? Or is there a constant nag like poor framerate or the annoyance of turning graphics down to Playstation One-esque levels just to get by?
I could sacrifice some (Edit: Skyrim) detail, perhaps going from max settings to high. Given that the game still looks GREAT even on high, you think I'll fare okay? My 260 SLI setup SMASHES high settings, but IS smashed by Ultra.
Bump. I do understand that there are benchmarks out there that answer my questions here, but I'm looking more along the lines for actual user testimonials. Sure, someone can say the game averages out at a certain FPS, but I just want to know if its possible to ENJOY surround with a single GTX 670.
I'd be playing on three 25" monitors at 5760x1080.
Here's my concern:
My budget can only allow one card, no SLI. Thus, I'm torn between the EVGA 670 SC 4GB and the Asus DC2T 2GB. The EVGA will give me the extra VRAM needed for Surround, but the Asus will give me guaranteed out of the box...
