hm, i plan to wait a little to get a vga cooler but the question is, T-rad2 or twin turbo? i like the fact that i could put my own 92mm fans on the t-rad2 but I'm still curious about the twin turbo, overall which do you think would be better estimate wise?
Noted below in the post is the W used by 4870, not sure about the GT. You gotta factor in the rest of your system specs too , to find out what your total consumption is. This will give you a better idea of how it's all handled.
Here's a pic straight out of [H] power consumption for their...
I can primarily stand 40% f. speed considering my side fan is on par with the 4870's fan which it runs at 40% f. speed (noise dba), but seriously this mod made a world of a difference, especially since it let me understand how high the temps can go.
hm sounds realy strange, you running in native, legacy or raid? which mobo? best bet is to try a new hdd, maybe the setting needs to change, perhaps you do need a new psu.
Well I decided to give the o/c a shot, When i first got this thing at 750/900 i was idling at 80C and full load 87C, decided to push the fan up to 40% and maxed the o/c to 790/1100 now I idle at 60C and full load at 69C, I have to admit impressive results I can't wait for the aftermarket coolers...
i'm impressed with the 4870, i just got my powercolor version and it falls dead silent on the ears. excellent results so far. well worth the money for me anyways
I'm in the waiting game too, usually my s/h is free with 1 day estimated delivery but the Powercolor 4870 I ordered from the egg was on 3-day select from CA. So now I wait till monday afternoon.
I went for the PowerCooler, I figure I would give them a go plus sapphire out of stock also I did notice only sapphire in picture had the 2 - 6pin adapters
now they are out of stock of all 3
