    BIOS update failed, won't boot.

    There is a bios backup file on the motherboard cd. So if you can boot with the cd in the drive, the board should start searching for a bios file automatically

    I would set it up with the old hard drive and psu just to see If you get stability back if not, then I'm afraid some piece of hardware has gotten damaged

    just install xp on the second machine for her She can try it out for 30 days before you need to activate it By then you know if she likes it, if it is really that much faster you can always sell both to get some better hardware personally, I think it will do just fine for a "mom-pc"...

    zero82z is correct, but if you accidentally switch the connections on the LED, they just don't light up no harm done, reverse the connector and you'll be A-OK
