Desktop Publishing, is it worth buying a Mac?

I'm a long-time Mac user, but I have to agree with the others. For what you're doing, your PC would be fine.

14" ibook, Buying one soon, INFO PLEASE!

Hey Mario - The Airport Extreme card will work fine with a (b) network - New systems will ship with Tiger once it is released - I can't say if you will miss your extra HD space or not. Depends what your storage requirements are. If you need extra space, external firewire or USB 2.0...

kindly recommend a portable mp3 player for my needs... please... pretty please...

I'm not sure which iPod you've used, but I haven't experienced this. That said, sounds like you have a pretty good player there. The battery life that you quoted is fantastic!

    Powerbook or iBook?

I'd go with a 15" PowerBook. Faster, better video card and display (more real estate), gig ethernet, firewire 400/800, backlit keyboard is nice.

Pixel, sometimes review sites remind me of stock analysts. I read them and go...huh? :D

    Need help with PB purchase

Just curious, what do you plan on using it for? IMO, the difference between 1.67 and 2.0 isn't that much in a laptop. Typically, it's the other things that get you (slow drives, slow system bus). Again, just curious. :)

dano, you might want to look at a 4GB iPod mini for $199. Meets the criteria you listed, and for not much more than you'll spend for a 1GB flash player you get a 4GB drive, great interface, and IMO nothing out there so far beats the ease of use presented by the iTunes + iPod combo. Just as FYI...

Not sure if this is needed or will do exactly what you want, but thought I'd post it up here anyway. http://www.weirdkid.com/products/emailchemy/ I haven't used it so I can't testify to its effectiveness. Just remembered I'd bookmarked it in case any of my clients needed something like...

    Dell’s UltraSharp 2005FPW widescreen 20-inch LCD monitor.

Just an update on mine. I began to notice the backlight would flicker for the first 15-20 minutes it was on, after that it would be fine. Trying to figure out what might cause that, I recalled that I had gone into the color settings and made just adjustments. On a whim, I went back into the OSM...

    2005FPW getting fixed?

I've had mine for about 3 weeks now and I love it, except... I can't get the brightness control on the front to do anything. The button seems to be working physically, I get the on-screen display and when I press the +/- buttons it registers as I increase or decrease the setting. But I get no...

    Dell’s UltraSharp 2005FPW widescreen 20-inch LCD monitor.

I've had my 2005FPW for about 2 weeks now and just took some pictures of the black screen. http://homepage.mac.com/mot4t/PhotoAlbum22.html The first one was taken with 1/15 shutter, and is the most accurate representation of what I actually see: The second one is at 1/8. The colored...
