Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Unfortunately the shop I'm buying from doesn't carry the Asus Q87M-E. I could buy it from another place, but it's going to be (a tiny bit) more expensive than the MSI Z87 S02.
Found a good deal on the MSI Z87 S02. What do you guys think about that one? It's got the Realtek 8111G LAN controller. How do I find out if windows 8 have built in drivers for that controller? I've been googling, but with no luck :(
Thanks for all your input people! :)
I'll probably go with an MSI z87 mobo as Abula had good experience with that.
No matter what mobo I get I'll make sure to install as little crap as possible from the CDs that comes with the board.
The reason for dual x16 is that I read that someone got fps drops when loading textures when running two cards at x8 each, but didn't have any issues like that when he pulled one of the cards and just ran one at x16.

About that size... :)
What I mean is that I'll find a case where the mobo fits after I've decided on a mobo :)
The price is a little hard to say anything about as the prices here (Sweden) don't match the prices in the US very well. Everything is more expensive here. But for example the Gigabyte...
NeuroticTurtle is on the right track :)
For the gfx card drivers I'll install the latest from the card vendor or amd/nvidia
Yes, I want a gigabit ethernet controller that is supported by the drivers that comes with windows.
WiFi is not needed. Neither is bluetooth.
Yes, also the audio chip...
Yes, sorry. "Software" is too broad of a term. Of course I'll need to install drivers. What I don't want is the programs with gauges/meters/knobs etc that often comes with the drivers.
I guess even programs like that are fine as long as you don't have to have them running for everything to...
Hi
I'm looking for a mobo that doesn't need any additional software installed when paired with windows 8.
I will not be overclocking.
I don't need RAID support.
I need two USB 3 ports and at least six USB ports in total (two can be internal headers for connecting to front USB ports on...
I have an extrenal Lacie 250gb usb2 harddrive. I'm using it to store my music and movies on, because they won't fit on my tiny 20gb laptop hdd. Until just recently I used to watch moves and listen to the music straight from the external disk, but I can't do that anymore :(
The movie/music works...
