All right, another update... :)
The system is rock solid right now at HT 300 x3, memory at 250 2.5-4-4-7, proc at 2.4 GHz (x8 multiplier). I think I'm going to leave it like it is, because it's smoking fast, and very stable.
After a lot more tinkering, anything faster than 2.5 GHz is out...
I'm almost certain I could take it up to 3GHz, or at least pretty close. I'm not sure if I want to give it that kind of voltage though :) . Only problem with running that fast is that I'll have to run my memory asynchronously. I'm not sure how much of a performance hit that will incur, but...
Since I haven't read the sticky on AMD OC yet, take my experience with a grain of salt...
Here's what I've got that is working well now:
HT 240 x4, CPU multiplier x10
memclock 200:200
spread spectrums - all disabled
cool 'n' quiet - disabled
aggressive timing - disabled
high...
newls1: good call on the memory timings. I backed them off to 3-4-4-8 as opposed to the 2.5-3-3-7 that it's rated at. I've seen a number of people with the same memory running it at the rated speed without trouble... maybe I got a bad batch or something.
wiploc: once I got the memory...
Haven't tried a lower multiplier, I'll give that a shot.
I read somewhere that even the most recent BIOS still doesn't *officially* support X2s, but I have no way to substantiate this. If this is in fact the case, I'll have to ride it out and wait for a new BIOS.
I haven't played with...
This board is giving me hell. I'm trying to OC an X2 3800+ (Manchester), and having absolutely no luck.
The only thing I've gotten to work is HyperTransport @210 x4 with all other settings at their defaults. Anything up to 219 will cause Windows to bluescreen, anything faster and the system...
