I'm hoping someone here can help me out.
I have an Areca ARC-1882IX-12 card with the battery module and recently the battery module has started showing 'failed' notifications. Today the card started beeping and in the even viewer it's failed again but this time with an undervoltage warning...
Hey guys, I could use some help now. I was rendering a video out today and I came back to my desk to find my computer restarted itself and it was showing on the bootup screen in red something to likes of 'insufficient memory' where it normally starts the firmware!
I tried rebooting again but...
well, if anyone's interested in what 4gb ram vs 1gb does for the 1882x-12, this is the result I'm seeing:
I'll see if it makes a big difference with editing performance but for around a $100 bucks I'd say it was worth it :)
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I'm not that familiar with what you're referring to.
Just to keep it simple, will I see any improvement for what I use it for primarily, video editing? I have a bbu with write-back enabled.
Hi folks, I'm running an Areca 1882IX-12 with 12x3TB drives in Raid 10.
Right now its still stock with the 1gb ram, will upgrading to 4gb be a worthwhile investment? Where will I see an improvement, during rebuilds or with actual data transfer rates/performance?
thanks in advance!
For the love of god does anyone have a clue how I'm getting such shit results with my 1882??
I just tried everything again from scratch.
This is 12x 3tb drives in RAID 0!!
I haven't looked at the red's. I actually have 8 of them in my synology 1813 (which I'm already not that thrilled about. One just failed recently after a few months and was replaced which cost me another shipping fee).
Again, the various colors, categories etc that these drive manufacturers...
I'm trying to decide on which drives are best for my raid card and build.
I have an ARECA 1882ix-12 card and I'd like to setup a new 8-12 disk array in RAID 3 for video editing.
The few drives I'm looking at are the HGST Deskstar 4TB drives...
I'm not sure what I did to fix it but I shut everything down and unplugged the battery. Booted it up again and now I'm getting these results. Although its not consistent. Some passes show a read speed of 600mb/s so something odd is still going on.
Again these are now setup in RAID 10, there are...
it just finished initializing and I'm still getting horrible write results using crystaldiskmark 1200MB/s Read, 23MB/s write.
I'm not sure what I should try next. Any advice would be appreciated.
No, I haven't tried this setting yet. I'll see if I have the latest firmware.
I tried by deleting and creating the new volume sets.
Right now I'm letting it initialize but I got these results after selecting 'no initialization' or something like that during the setup. The drives aren't...
Hi everyone, I'm having some problems with my ARECA 1882ix-12 card after wiping my drive and trying to create a new raid array.
Recently I had one of my drives fail and so I decided to back everything up and try again.
What I'm seeing now though are insanely bad write speeds and I've tried a...
thanks for the advice!
I'm leaning more to the Raid10 option after reading the comments here. The thing I'm still unsure of is whether or not the initializing stage is needed when setting up raid10? I skipped it for now and just started transferring files back on the raid array and it seems...
Hi folks! I have an Areca ARC-1882IX-12 controller and 12 Seagate baracuda 3tb drives.
I'm working in Premiere CC with mostly RED camera footage (up to 5K) and so there's need for fast performance and lots of drive space.
I'm trying to decide which is the best setup with the options I...
