Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I really hope AMD is able to deliver. We need some competition at the 4K capable performance level, and I'd love to be able to get FreeSync monitors as a future upgrade.
To stick with your car analogy, when a Camaro gets old and people are looking for a new one, they just get a new Camaro at...
I think it's more that at 4K, where the 20xx card is being taxed, you don't really need the AA. And at 1080p or 1440p, where you need the AA, the card isn't being taxed and you can run any AA you want.
It's great the DLSS is much more efficient than TAA, but so is MLAA and FXAA. Except that...
I think many Ubisoft open-world games have absolutely fallen into an icon-covered, collect-a-thon rut. But I still like Ubisoft games a lot more than anything Activision has put out in the last decade. And don't even get me started on King's games...
I'm glad Ubisoft didn't fall prey to a...
I don't go above 2400, but bigger numbers sure sound better.
Like 8K TV. Most people sit so far away they won't be able to tell the difference (if they can even tell the difference between 1080p and 4K), but it's bigger so it's got to be better!
Yesterday, in a sterling bit of investigative journalism, The Tech Report discovered that Windows applies V-Sync to games running in Windowed mode. Come back next week when they will reveal that the V-Sync in question is... triple buffered!
In other news, Nvidia still dicks, still want you to...
What would Apple do if Google doesn't pay?
Turn to Microsoft for Bing? Switch to Yahoo? Do what they did years ago with Google Maps - block Google and make their own shitty alternative that pisses off their users?
If you have a FreeSync monitor, why is that even a question? Get the Vega, love it, be happy! :)
Also, Turing kind of reminds me of Tesselation when it first launched. Everyone was Tesselation this and Tesselation that, and we're going to Tesselate the shit out of everything! And then it turned...
Looking into my crystal ball... I see a gain of 0 performance, 1 ray tracing that's too slow for maxed settings at 1080p, all the DLSS that FF 15 can handle, and you will feel like a great weight has been lifted... from your wallet.
What's crazy is that's what I paid for my RX 480 4GB - 2 years ago! And not just any RX 480, an MSI Gaming X one. The mining craze inflated prices like crazy, and they're only now getting back to where they were two years ago.
And then Nvidia released the 20xx series, because apparently the...
It's not, though, not really. The 2080 is 10% faster than an FE 1080 Ti, but so is nearly every AIB 1080 Ti. The FE was constrained by a poor heatsink, which they got rid of for the 20xx series. You put the 2080 against any of the non-blower fan 1080 Ti cards and they're neck to neck.
I love how this whole outrage was over either random chance or people purposefully modding their games to create outrage. Clearly the RNG was trying to make a political statement.
I wonder if the bulk of it could have been avoided had they released the actual rates sooner, rather than make...
It's really more like $599, as AIB partners have historically ignored the MSRP and priced based on the FE price.
I'm sure the 2060 will be $450. Nvidia seems to be taking Apple approach of increasing prices figuring that they'll sell anyway to the loyal fans.
Did the $100 card ever really...
Judging based on every other card they've released with a Founders' Edition, AIBs will base their pricing on the FE price, the "MSRP" will be a pipe dream, and all 2070 cards will be $599+
Which would make them $100 more than the comparable 1080, thus being as disappointing as the 2080. It...
