I have the 2490wuxi and NEC's famed 20WMGX2. No pro - I'm more a prosumer - I just drop the ONE-EYE calibrator on screen let it create a icc profile and walk away. Both offer near perfect viewing angles and perfect color once calibrated - typical with IPS but the 2490 offers much better blacks...
LOL Snowdog you forgot to tell him the problems with IPS.
1. Cost - cost at least twice as much for a decent one with 100% guarnteed IPS like
19" 1990FX $500
20" 2090UXi $1000
20" 20WMGX2 $600
26" 2690WUXI $1600
30" HC 3007 or HP 3065 $1700-$1900
All expensive as hell or you can take your...
I still use w2k sp4 as my personal OS which doesn't suck. I don't know where you get this idea w2k sux but I have never had a crash that wasnt OC induced usually memory related. It plays all my games (and all games AFAIK) and doesnt take a hour or two to configure in order not look like...
For DVD viewing you should only look at MVA/PVA since IPS tech strongly accentuate the twinkling in movies worse than all because it's so fast and color perfect a scences compression imperfections are highlighted. Explained here:

If thats the case I agree Dell without question since he thinks $550 is to much for a 20".I have the 2005 w/ IPS not bad. I had no back light bleed dead pixels or screen door many user complained about..hopefully these problems was fixed w/ 2007
Too bad it's a great deal. It's worth $750.
Recent reveiws still rave about
"Please note that we already found this IPS 6ms in another monitor, the excellent NEC MultiSync 20GX. Its the fastest 20" but has a glossy panel, which has the unpleasant side effect of showing your reflection as...
Lucky you. Seriously, you're very fortunate your local store carries such good monitors where you can try them out, in person and judge for yourself. This is the best way. In The USA, at retailers, only one, Frys carries a halfway decent selection and there are not many Fry's... about 13...

2. There's a reason it's cheaper like Dell they take any old panel. All panels are not created equal.
3. So what? ... have any evidence the 05 is better than the 04?
4. Dual DVI...

Hi bob I got them from page I just havnt had time to go over to dentist office and setup... Saturday is the plan. I build his comps in morning then spend all afternoon over there installing software/setting up network etc on those 19's...so I'll try and give my impressions after
Yes BK just means black. You'll be really happy with this monitor I think sicne it reviews everywhere really well. And YMMV means your milage may very. Meaning the glossy screen may or may not bother you from the NEC 19" I talked about earlier. An optic filter like opticlear the only way to...
In USA the NEC is $180 cheaper. $415 vs. $595 and the panel is the same for all intents and purposes...but I wager NEC electronics are better with thier experiance in the high end space.
