Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
At first I also thought that the FCC and the GPS companies were ganging up on poor LightSquared to push them out of business but as I understand from reading about this debacle on other sites it really is LightSquared's problem.
They bought satellite spectrum but want to use that spectrum from...
I've run into several infections that modify the permissions on the hosts file. They make it a system file, read-only, and other stuff. Check out this guide http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-security-tool. Near the bottom is a link to a script that fixes the permissions along...
Do you guys think that cutting out the grill on the front intake fan will make it quieter? I've noticed that some fans are much louder when mounted on top as exhaust (intaking through the grill). Specifically with a Noctua NF-P12, I can set it on the top grill and it is much louder than it...
Virtualbox would work and would probably be better since it is open. I just automatically think of VMware when I think of virtualization because that is what I work with most of the time. And yes, you can create VMs with VMware Player 3 (which is free), though you couldn't with the older versions.
A VMware appliance would be cool too. That would make it real easy to take out for a test drive. And kudos for all your hard work so far, it's amazing how far you've got in just a few days.
Really? I didn't know that.
Anyway, I work in a computer repair shop and I find that combofix, Malwarebytes, and MSE takes care of most everything. Anyone have a recommendation for dealing with really nasty rootkits though?
Well, I've been messing around in NexentaStor's web GUI for the past few hours and I have noticed a few things missing in theirs that would be awesome to have in this implementation. One thing is that if the array is degraded or something similarly major, there should be a big warning box on the...
Okay, I see what you mean, there is not really any easy way out of manually labeling each drive, no biggie.
I like the clean interface and especially the idea of pop-up hints. That way you could have helpful tips and warning without cluttering the place with text. Though, depending on how...
@sub.mesa:
I'm too lazy to actually put a label on each tray so I just think it would be neat to be able to map out the drives onto a picture of the case.
Would it be possible to use disk labels to graphically map out the drives to the physical slots like they do here: http://www.nexenta.com/corp/nexentastor-faq-table/238-how-can-i-locate-drive-in-the-appliance-is-there-a-map-of-physical-slots ?
