graphics card out of the oven

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCxc0bxk_1U I tried this with a broken graphics card that wouldn't boot and showed strong artifacts. I recently ordered one on eBay (GeForce 9800GTX) but it turned out to be DOA. Desperate times call for desperate measures. And It worked!!:eek: This...

    DVI to HDMI quality loss?

Yes, I am aware of that. I'm not expecting it to be like a monitor but i want to avoid unnecessary loss of picture quality. I'm going to order the tv in about two weeks and I'll post the results here. I'm thinking about getting this one...

    DVI to HDMI quality loss?

Thanks for the quick reply. So I shouldnt worry about the signal quality then. I live in Germany... so thank for the URLs but I'm probably going with a more local internet store ;) What do you think about DVI/HDMI adapters like this one? Any good...

    DVI to HDMI quality loss?

Hi, I just bought a video card on eBay without researching enough. ;) Its a EVGA Geforce 9800 GTX 512MB for 61€. Initially I was looking for a HDMI connection with a HD TV but it only has two DVI outs. Now I know you can connect DVI to HDMI with a special cable but does the picture quality...

    Trouble with old school PC

 I just remembered, there was one unused motherboard standoff I know off. That might actually be the problem. Didn't think about if when I installed it. Thanks for all your suggestions, I'll try this ASAP when I get home. ;)

    Trouble with old school PC

Ok, I will actually install the whole thing into a different case. About the battery, shouldn't it work when you turn it on tho? I mean just to test the system and at least get a picture (even without the battery).

    Trouble with old school PC

I just cleared the BIOS (switched the jumper) before I tried it...Why remove the battery? But I actually tried that on the old board but no difference. I didn't remove the battery at the first try.

    Trouble with old school PC

Hi, I have encountered a problem with a friends PC. It is a AGP, Socket A, DDR1 setup. The PC turns on but nothing happens (no picture/no beep). This is what I tried: 2 different video cards (both worked on this PC before, but I'm currently not able to test functionality) 3 different...

Sys doesn't OC without PCI-E: Automatic

Sys doesn't OC without PCI-E: Automatic

ahh ok... the problem is that everytime I manually select a PCI-e mhz-rate, the restart fails... I have to leave it on Auto in order to overclock the cpu... i guess my board DOES suck :-/

Sys doesn't OC without PCI-E: Automatic

I don't have a (BIG) problem with it so far.. latest BIOS and OCs fine. I see that I was wrong about the PCI-E bc I thought it clocks the card itself.... so I can go above 100MHz without causing the card to overheat? I had the 2.4ghz on 3.06ghz the whole night yesterday (PCI-E: Auto) but this...

Sys doesn't OC without PCI-E: Automatic

Hi, I have a question regarding overclocking a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600. It seems that any combination of settings I use in the BIOS won't work unless I set the PCI-E card to "Auto". I have a card from eVGA that is already overclocked and I really don't want it to run even higher. I...

My system is now Liquid Cooled...

Yeah..thanks... I read reviews from 2 hardware sites and they were just judging ease of installation, cooling performance, and stuff like that. I already found out that I have 2 different metals which contributes towards corrosion... so that sux! I tried putting my own system together online...
