I have the PC hooked up via the DVI slot and it works fine. Any other ideas as to why the HDDVD player suddenly doesn't work with the DVI slot? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. And I screwed up the details, I actually have the A2. But anyhow, I actually updated the firmware to the latest and didn't have any better results. I also made sure the connection was good. Any other thoughts on why all the sudden it wouldn't work?

I haven't been following this thread for a while so I apologize if this has been covered. But here goes, for the past few months I have had my Toshiba HD A20 hooked up to this monitor to watch my HD-DVDs and never had a problem. The other day all the sudden the monitor won't pick up the...

I haven't been following this thread closely for the past couple weeks. Are people now sending their monitors back to get the option to turn off the overscan. If so, is this fully fixing the problem etc... Thanks

I may try out some test clips then. When you try to run your HD-DVD player at 1080i, does a small green line appear across the bottom of the frame? Because it does on my monitor yet dissapears when running at 720p

Well thanks for the heads up then. I don't want to blow the extra 100 or so if its not really going to make any difference with this monitor. I'm kind of a noob with this stuff, but the only thing I was reading was that maybe this monitor can't deinterlace very well, if that were the case...

Thank you, Not a specific problem I guess but it just seems fairly grainy. And like I said, on something that should just be one flat color, i.e. a white wall, it never looks right, it just looks a mess. Sorry I can't be more specific or anymore technical. I'm just wondering if this is as...

Official BenQ FP241W Thread !!! Info, Pictures, Reviews

Well I ended up purchasing the Toshiba HD A2 HD-DVD player and am really unimpressed with the results. I had it outputting at 1080i through a HMDI>DVI cable. I have the monitor on 1:1. The picture looks fairly grainy, hardly HD quality. I think it looks the worst on flat textures, I really...

    Monitor Calibration Systems and you!

The suite is intriguing and also expensive. The one problem I envision is the fact that the PC and the HD-DVD player will both be using the same DVI port. So even if I did get the suite, would I have to calibrate each time I wanted to switch between DVD and PC? Thanks

    Monitor Calibration Systems and you!

So if I am going to be watching a lot of DVDs via a separate player, i.e. not on the computer, do you think it would be worth it to upgrade to the suite version, or is it really not going to make that much of an obvious difference anyhow? Thanks
