20 year old UPS w/ new battery?

It should be fine, but the circuits inside do take a beating over the years or caps go bad eventually. I keep all my APC units in a spreadsheet (usually around 10). I have them on everything including TVs and Home Theater. I used to replace their batteries indefinitely, but now-days I limit it...

Crysis 2 (v1.9) on AMD 5870 - Flashing graphics glitch

I just purchased Crysis 2 Maximum Edition on Steam. Looks like it’s v1.9 with Texture Pack and DX11 patch. I loved Crysis-1 and wanted to checkout the new CryEngine. It’s running pretty good, but the car window flashing and patchy ground flashing is very distracting. Makes the game seem cheap...

    Dell U2410

It took about 3 hours of running the built-in LCD Conditioning, but it looks like the IR caused by the desktop calendar gadget has disappeared completely. That was scary :) I have the u2410 at Brightness: 40 , Contrast: 60 . I might try moving some gadgets back now (at decreased Opacity)...

    Dell U2410

Isn't it 16:9 ? I found the new Dell P-2411-H ... now if they would just make a plain P-2411 (16:10) There is the 24" NEC MultiSync EA241WM (16:10 - 1920x1200) but for $500 ... I might as well wait for the u2410 to go on sale again.

    Dell U2410

Are there any? I would really like to buy a slim bezel TN 24" 16:10 panel to go next to my u2410. It's hard to justify another $600 u2410 for a second monitor. Something like a E-2210 or P-2210 ... but 24".

    Dell U2410

Yes, sorry ... Image Retention. It's strange ... it doesn't show though with a white box. Light blue or grays show it best (like in the new Win-7 Microsoft Paint). Also, when the LCD Conditioning (Primary Colors) is running, it doesn't appear. The more I run LCD Conditioning, the better it...

    Dell U2410

I can't believe it. My u2410 is only 5 months old and I'm already getting some burn-in  ... Anyone else? It's on the top right side about 2 inches from the edge. A thin line about 3 inches long. It's where the SideBar starts. I have always had the monitor set to power down after 5...

Dell u2410 - Finer points of operation

Thanks, you have been a big help. My monitor is still Dell Calibrated and I understand its advanced functions better now. I see what you mean about the "Game Mode Trick" . So, I guess it's working.

Dell u2410 - Finer points of operation

Thanks for the reply. So it must have been on sRGB (if that's the mode they calibrate) since I bought it because all I did after I bought it was turn off the click sound. So when I turned on Game mode, Dynamic Contrast came on by default. So all that makes sense now. Ya, Game mode (as...

Dell u2410 - Finer points of operation

I remembered this website from when I was shopping for my new monitor a few months back. Hopefully, you experts can answer a few questions for me. I ended up getting a Dell u2410. It’s connected to an AMD/ATI HD-5870 (CCC 10.8) via DVI. I’m running Windows-7 Ultimate 64bit. Today, I wanted...
