    Lian-Li PC-Q25

Honestly, I removed the hotswappable sata panels. The case side panels are easy to take apart and I didn't want the added complexity.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

For Canada, USPS Priority International is what I would prefer. It's reasonably fast and comes with free tracking. Plus there's a flat fee if the case manages to fit the size of the box.

I voted no ODD, but I could go for either. The location and design of the ODD looks very nice even if it's there but to be honest I hardly use mine.

OpenSolaris derived ZFS NAS/ SAN (OmniOS, OpenIndiana, Solaris and napp-it)

The motherboard has 4 sata ports, and 1 mPCIe slot. I can have the OS on the mPCIe SSD. And the 4 ports can be used for the HDs. However, since Aesma pointed out I can't just expand the VDEV, that forces me to buy 6 drives. Regardless, I will have to get a LSI card now. Thanks, I will be...

OpenSolaris derived ZFS NAS/ SAN (OmniOS, OpenIndiana, Solaris and napp-it)

Thanks, I re-read vdev and my assumption of expanding it is incorrect. I guess when I wrote ARC I really meant L2ARC. I re-read it again and it doesn't provide much use. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm been eyeing out on the M1015. So I'm hoping to get that. I think that settles some of...

OpenSolaris derived ZFS NAS/ SAN (OmniOS, OpenIndiana, Solaris and napp-it)

I've taken my time to read through the forum and some of the other threads. I think I'm ready to commit to building my home NAS. I'm stuck with the Lian Li Q25 so hence the ITX requirement. I would like to start at RaidZ2 with 4 drives for the zpool and one ssd for booting to OpenIndiana +...

    Small server Build

If you are planning to use ESXi you realize DBS1200KP(R) does not support VT-D (e.g. no hardware passthrough). The DQ77KB looks okay but does not have PCI-e 8X so might not be ideal if you are planning to put in a SAS controller. I am in a similar situation. Debating between DBS1200KPR...

The Lian Li black is fine. Oh I hope this case can be delievered when Haswell comes out :)

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Since this is a niche case, I'd expect the price to be quite a bit. Unless we are talking over 300-400USD, I think anything under 300 it reasonable due to the cost, volume, etc.

I'd prefer a faint light as shown by Necere. I don't want any blinding LED lights while the PC is on.
