I have the Eizo FS2333 as well, and it's an excellent monitor. Color reproduction and response time are wonderful AND it doesn't have that atrocious matte coating. There may be some quality issues though, as I've been through a few monitors (backlight bleed and grey pixel clusters). My current...
I have not performed an analysis with an actual calibration device, but black levels seem wonderful to me. I have not paid attention to shadow detail, though.
If you can get a good one, this is a wonderful monitor. True 8-bit IPS (PLS, whatever) without the grotesque anti-glare coating.
Ok, I am NOT having good luck with this model. This panel is great except for some grey pixel clusters, several of them. After about a week of ownership, I noticed a multi-pixel sized grey region. Upon further inspection, I noticed three others, although not as prominent. Looking further, I...
Update:
I received my replacement FS2333, and it's pretty nice. The back light bleed is much better, in fact uniformity is near perfect. IPS glow is pretty bad, though, but I supposed that is to be expected. From a dead center viewing, the bottom left corner has a glow that goes away at...
As a heads up, Adorama seems to have the FS2333 in stock. Grab it while you can, because stock will not be replenished until April sometime.
B&H finally received a shipment (of three monitors) this week, and has shipped my replacement out oh so slowly via UPS ground. I will let you know if...
U53r, regardless of the possibility that monitors are currently overpriced, evilsofa is essentially correct. In the current state of the monitor industry, quality is expensive.
You may, in fact, be correct. Consumers are getting screwed. You may be overstating the issue, and there are...
Changing the viewing angle of the affected area doesn't reduce the lightness very much, so I'm not so sure if it's just off angle IPS glow; but it encompasses almost half the entire bottom left quadrant of the monitor. And I can tell a slight discoloration on white backgrounds.
Unfortunately...
Upon watching a movie, with lots of blacks, it turns out the lighting uniformity is not so good. There's a little blacklight bleed in the upper right, but there is quite a large lighter patch on the lower left. Not sure if it's acceptable or not.
Just received my Eizo FS2333 today. Upgrading from an NEC 20WMGX2.
It's gorgeous! I would really like to calibrate it, but I don't have a hardware calibrator handy.
Screen uniformity is superb. All the pixels work. Color is great! Gonna try out some games soon.
