• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

    Cisco 2960S - Flow control

Would a mismatch somewhere cause 8-10 ports on a switch to have this issue?

can anyone sugest a quiet Cisco switch?

5505 could work depending on how many VLANs. I thought some had a limitation to 3? At the least it does come with some PoE ports. Not quite sure what it supports though per PoE standards.

    Cisco 2960S - Flow control

I've been digging into some performance issues on a LAN that has a couple of 2960s. The monitoring software I'm using has indicated a high amount of discarded outbound packets (up to 5%). The suggested resolutions were to enable flow control. My question is does enabling flow control on all...

    Uploading Kills Internet Connection

No one has given any evidence that the modem has been checked out and is in fact not the problem. You stated it - yes. He stated that - no. And everyone else has either stated it may or may not be the problem. Just because you say it's not - doesn't mean everyone should just...

    Uploading Kills Internet Connection

Landmine - if you are still having the problem with uploads after working with Pfsense, you may want to review Comcast's documentation to at least troubleshoot the modem. Since nothing has been posted about it specifically Comcast has some guidelines in terms of how to tell if you are within...

    Uploading Kills Internet Connection

I must be the only one reading the actual posts then. I'm seriously going off of what has been posted. Let's recap what the OP has and hasn't done: The OP has not stated whether or not the modem is or isn't the issue. The only thing tried so far that has been stated is an attempt to get...

    Uploading Kills Internet Connection

I happen to disagree or rather propose another possible problem already stated by others - that is all. If the modem is the issue the solution has already been stated several times for that. Since you're committed in attacking me on this ill leave it be. You're being a completely disrespectful.

    Uploading Kills Internet Connection

RedFalcon, I'll try not to take that personally. Look - what the OP stated was that when uploading files the internet connection drops. That is not normal. Despite what you might think - it's not a normal occurrence to upload files to the internet and have your internet connection drop...

    Troubleshooting VPN Issues

I bet this is an issue on the Checkpoint side. Couple of things to check: Make sure that whatever IPSec encryption you are using is supported on both devices (3DES, Diffe-Hillman types, etc.). Generally you shouldn't be able to get a tunnel established if they don't match but I've seen some...

    Uploading Kills Internet Connection

Any decent modem handles this properly without a crap out. Slowness can occur but by no means is a crap out an expected occurrence.

    Uploading Kills Internet Connection

For any firewall you shouldn't even need to do traffic shaping to upload and keep your connection from dropping. This is more of a router or modem issue. Maybe a bad cable. Seems we are making this harder than it needs to be. I would bet the modem needs replaced or cables replaced. Traffic...

    Slow only on some sites

Not sure if you can check these settings on your router but I've seen similar issues with packet fragmentation. Some routers enable you to set whether or not packets that are too large to be fragmented. The speed issue can come up if you are dropping packets.
