"They Wonder Why People Don't Make PC Games Any More"

Don't be idiots. Yes, it is possible to steal console games. And yes, it was possible to steal PC games and other digital media even before the internet came around. But, hell guys, you could just steal units off the shelves long before any kind of digital content copying by the end user was...

    WD Raptor 150 w/ Asus P5B

I wasnt sure which controller it was running off of, so I disabled and then uninstalled the JMicron driver. This nuked the DVD drive, but did not seem to affect the HDD. When you say I need to use the AHCI F6 drivers, how exactly do I do that? I saw an option in the BIOS to configure SATA as...

    WD Raptor 150 w/ Asus P5B

I just ran HD Tach, and I got a burst speed of 4.3 MB/s, 8.4ms random access, and 48% cpu utilization. Ive reset the bios to stock, out of box attributes in case i had done something there to screw it up, and that has not helped. @Rail: I dont have the motherboard original box or manual...

    WD Raptor 150 w/ Asus P5B

I have a WD Raptor 150 GB SATA hdd on an Asus P5B, and Im pretty sure that the drive is underperforming pretty badly, based on anecdotal experience. But I have no clue why. The bios recognizes the drive correctly as a WD SATA drive, and Windows appears to recognize it correctly (calling it a WD...

I think it is the memory, not the processor. Try upping the timing.

    OC Conroe what RAM?

To oc effectively you probably want 800-speed ram. Just remember that one half the ram rated speed is effectively your fsb maximum speed, assuming the ideal 1:1 ratio. So 800 lets you go up to 400 fsb, which should be plenty.

can't get these temps they sound SCREWED

Sorry for double post, but: Ugh I let dual prime run while I went out for lunch, and when I came back in the stated temps were SEVENTY C on the CPU. This is insane! There are no stability problems or hardware errors in prime whatsoever, so the PC can't possibly be overheating, yet it is telling...

can't get these temps they sound SCREWED

Before bed last night I got a stable oc of 366.0 FSB @ 1.328V vcore actual on my A5B (which if I remember correctly is 1.35V in the BIOS). Temps under load are 54 cpu and lass than 40 mobo. Pulling and cleaning the nb/sb seems to have helped alot, but it is still much hotter than other people...

If my OC runs perfectly stable but at high temps...

I opened up my PC again, and removed and cleaned the nb and sb hs, and reapplied with AS5. Did the same with my cpu HSF. Since then my temps have dropped to a stable 37/38 cpu and 33/34 mobo. Not great, but an improvement. So I'm convinced now that it is the factory chipset coolers. I'm gonna...

If my OC runs perfectly stable but at high temps...

The problem is the P5B. Myself, sparks, and you apparently have this board, and we all have absurdly high CPU temps. Hopefully its just a crappy sensor, and not the board itself, but I am starting to think now that the stock heatpipe on the nothbridge is insufficient.

can't get these temps they sound SCREWED

I have the P5B Deluxe as well, and I'm having the same problem. I swapped out my Zalman CPU cooler for a Silverstone NT06, and the temps when down a little bit, but not much. Right now they are hovering around 40c on the cpu and 35c on the mobo. I'm beginning to think maybe the board is the...
