More money is always a plus but what I would look at is what would help your career. If moving to a new company/position would help you gain more experience then I would go take the chance to move into that. If it is only for the pay increase then maybe you should step back...
I do it for clients that want the security blanket of having someone who has a piece of paper saying what they are certified for rather than someone who is not.
As long as the person can back it up and did not just memorize the test then why not. I add them in my sig in my company emails like
Name
Certs
Company
Add
State etc

I am about to embark on my CCNA path. I have Cisco's publication and two routers at home and I am going to get a switch shortly. For those of you who are certified what would you recommend to help make the process easier? I am not talking give me answers just tips that you would have done...
