What could cause this extremely high wear leveling? (Crucial M4)

One more quick update - been a week now and still steady at 2735. Case closed - I'm going to contact Bitdefender about this as well, they need to be aware that their software is actually damaging drives.

What could cause this extremely high wear leveling? (Crucial M4)

Still sitting good at 2735 after nearly 2 days without Bitdefender - I think that was definitely it. Ridiculously bad bug in the software...

What could cause this extremely high wear leveling? (Crucial M4)

Yeah I have no idea on Bitdender but I did find some forum posts about past versions writing tons of data to the temp folder, like 400,000+ files at a time and stuff like that. I was running the 2016 version but who knows I guess. That erase count hasn't gone up in close to 24 hours now after...

What could cause this extremely high wear leveling? (Crucial M4)

Update: I think it may be Bitdefender doing it. I uninstalled that this morning and went back to just Windows Defender+MBAM. Still sitting at 2735 now at midnight. Should have gone up more by now. Fingers crossed that this is it. ========= Pagefile - set to auto manage. I have 8GB of RAM on...

What could cause this extremely high wear leveling? (Crucial M4)

Yeah, I've got backups - not worried about that. Just need to know what's doing this to the drive. Here's what the Crucial utility shows:

What could cause this extremely high wear leveling? (Crucial M4)

I have two identical 256GB Crucial M4 drives that are about 3.5 years old. The OS one started throwing SMART errors last week indicating that the drive's life is nearing its end: The identical other drive (I have my games on it) shows almost no wear at all: The Average Block-Erase Count...

    Dell U2412M

I'm using the A02 icc one now and it's better. I still think the LG looked nicer though - amazing considering it's 5+ years old. I think part of it is the AG coating - looking at both monitors off side by side, I see way more reflection in the LG.

    Dell U2412M

On that TFTCentral profiles list do you have to use the one that matches your revision? I got two new A03's today to replace my dying LG246W and I think the U2412M looks a lot worse than the LG did using that single A03 profile that's on the site...

Corsair Vengeance K60 Keyboard and M60 Mouse Review @ [H]

I had the K60 and ended up returning it - my issues with it were: 1. I had the keycap fading problem within 3 days of buying it. 2. The Cherry MX Reds were just too little force for me I think, I was constantly doubling letters accidentally. 3. I had an issue where the backspace key...

    LG L246W

The problems with my 246W came back after a little bit using the new DVI to HDMI cable btw. I think it probably is the monitor now. It almost seems like an electrical issue builds up over time with it - if I leave it unplugged with no power to it for a while and then use it, it's fine for a...

    Auria EQ276W review ($399 27" 2560x1440 IPS)

Ok thanks. Gonna think about it a bit...

    Auria EQ276W review ($399 27" 2560x1440 IPS)

Couple questions if you can answer: 1. Is the stand height/angle adjustable at all? 2. How annoying is the glossiness of the screen exactly? Coming from a (dying) LG246W with the matte finish am I going to hate it? Very close to ordering it...

    Good PC Flight Sim?

FSX is the good Microsoft sim, not Flight imo... Others that are good: DCS A-10C Rise of Flight X Plane 10 Aerofly FS

    LG L246W

Thanks - maybe I'll check it out. Then again, I sorta think when I switch away from this monitor I'll probably go for 1440p on a 27" or something like that. I've always made every monitor I buy an upgrade over the last one in resolution and size - I went from a 19" 1280x1024 CRT to the 246W...

    LG L246W

What do you think about the AG coating on the 2412M though? That really worries me about replacing the 246W - I don't see any of that sparkling stuff with this monitor and I hate that effect on other ones I've seen.
