Well thanks all who offered assitance, some more than others. I guess I will get no more info on this topic?

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

Thank you Dave, I am actively searching there also but would rather buy a new unit with a warranty given my current experience, ;)

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

Ok, let me tie this up a bit: Yes, the Antec's died due to bad caps but I'm still not trusting them nor handing over more money because they should have helped me even out of warranty given there was a known issue IMHO. That aside, statement of some is that 5V@30A rail is enough for a...

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

Enermax 400 at what amperage on the 5V line? The only 400W model I see on Newegg is the Liberty with a paltry 5@28A. ST400 fairs slightly better @30A. I'm not trying to be a moron here friends nor trying to throw good money after bad but @25-28 (15 alone from CPU) I think I'd want a little...

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

Absolutely postiive, Asus broke from NF2 reference and relies solely on the 5V for vcore based on what I read around the web.

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

See your talking total watts whereas I am worried about the 5V line's amperage and only finding 480W+ PSU's doing that. So maybe you're trying to say ""5V@~32A is enough", but instead all you're saying "350W is enough watts & ran fine for years". 350W was good for you great, that not explaining...

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

    It's ATX V1.3, bottom line but I digress here are the specs: Asus A7N8X-Deluxe (no 12V connector; 5v usage besides CPU?) Sempron 3300+ (XP3200+ Barton equiv.) 5v@15A 2x512MB Corsair Twinx512MB PC-3200 LL (use 5V??) Sapphire X850XT 5V@4.5A 2x Barracuda 500GB 7200.10 SATA .5V@0.72A ea 2xMaxtor...

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

I agree on the $100 thing but choices for PSU's with more than 30A on the 5V line are almost non-existent. If you think I can get by on 30A of 5v, YOU are grossly under estimating what strain this setup puts on the 5V line! Show me where I am overestimating my 5V needs then show me a 300W PSU...

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

Ok, forget the Rosewill then. Is the OCZ ModStream worth $100 shipped vs. the bellow @$60? TOPOWER XPT Series TOP-500XPT Athena Power AP-P4ATX50F12 XION XON-500F8X2-201

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

Sagging power level would be caps then? I can handle soldering and would look into doing that to rehab as a backup unit. Meantime I need to procure a replacement I can trust not to kill my system. Knowing Rosewill's have issues I ask if anyone knows who OEM's this one for them...

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

Thanks but overkill just to keep an old Athlon box alive a few more years! No need for future-proof here, just good old ATX 1.3 style strong 5V line. I already have a 750 Tt Toughpower for my new Intel x48/lga775 plans.

    Need *good* PSU for A7N8X w/ 35A+ 5V line

This is my 1st post here so "Hello". Background: My second Antec TP 480W Blue has a drooping 5V rail and is out of warranty. 3 years total on 2 units over the past 4 years with the second only lasting a little over a year is not a good track record! Unfortunately the PC sat unused for a...
