OK an update to this! I just experienced what may have been a blackout, but it was for MUCH shorter than the previous blackouts on my old system. It was probably for < 1 second, and I'm not completely sure it wasn't caused by Windows or some other force. Strange.
An update to this: 18 days later, still no blackouts. I built my new rig finally a while back and changed the video card. Not a single blackout after switching DVI outputs on my old GPU OR a single blackout on the new GPU (GTX260). I am very happy with the color and the rest of the jazz this...
Yes, most of them are user reviews. I'd be mad if [H] was making money off it. That'd be just as bad as them biasing reviews for a few bucks. [H]'s revenue should be completely advertising-driven.
Good point, I couldn't agree more. I think people who are bashing Crysis never actually played it.
The game is sick! Very open-ended FPS style of play. Also, some of the most immersive and reactive environments in a video game EVER. From being able to chop down trees with firepower to...
I think it's important that developers focus on scalability as well. People with high-end video cards like to be able to utilize them for extra eye candy and whatnot.
People will low-end video cards like to be able to play the game as well.
That makes sense because the people who pirate are usually the more knowledgable people...the same people who are more knowledgable about their own systems and hence spend more money on their own systems...plus when you spend that much on systems you can't afford the games! LOL.
You have a good point there, but the heat is too much! At load I think the heat would be comparable...but idle, OMG hot. Plus with the heat, not sure how much OCing I'd be doing on a 4870 VS OCing on a GTX260 (which supposedly OCs very well).
Can you splurg for a 9800GTX+ or a 4870? I think those cards will keep you pretty future-proofed for a while at least.
What resolution you running anyways?
