Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The Vostro is basically an Inspiron in black right? Is there anything different about it externally?
Will Dell ever put HDMI / DVI in their laptops? The e1705 had DVI but they didn't include DVI on the e1705's replacement.
if you like electronic music, beatport.com is amazing. you can buy MP3s with no DRM. their library is massive.
iTunes does sell some of the artists that beatport does for only $0.99, but you have to deal with apple's mess. but the $0.99 is cheap and you can still convert the AAC files to MP3.
The panel type in the 3007 (S-IPS) is supposedly the best for viewing angles and there's not that much reflective coating either. So it will be interesting to find out more about what your experiencing because it sounds atypical for S-IPS.
Who knows, maybe Dell has switched to PVA for the...
FYI: The Official 3007 price just dropped to $1499 and the discount went from 20% to 15%, so the new price is $1274. So if the discount bumps back up to 20%, it will be $1199.
Gotta love HP and their SMART BUY options. Why don't they call the more expensive option DUMB BUY? What else would you call buying the exact same product at the same site for $200 more?
At any rate, it looks like $1699 will be the best MSRP price on the HP for a while. So, some retailers will...
This is a professional market monitor so if HP's research shows that 95% of the market doesn't need video signal processing then they'll leave it off and make more money. They don't seem to be targeting the gaming market according to the marketing materials I've read.
Is the the cable needed for the Dell 30" any diff than a standard DVI cable? I know it requires a special video card (dual link).
Dell seems to be offering the cable seperate from monitor now. Just wondering how much the cable costs from someone other than Dell.
Thanks.
From what I've read, 1080p on a smaller LCD (less than 50") is pretty useless unless you watch TV really, really close. Or, if you use it for a computer monitor. People get carried away with spec sheets and useless metrics like contrast ratios, etc. Makes in entertaining though...
