    Strange you would need to mod the INF for the 4850x2 9.1's. I looked at the file and the only card listed in it is the 4850x2. I tried using this INF for the official 9.1's but it as well was no dice.

    I am not sure if using ram sinks are necessary, I am sure if you have good airflow in your case the stock sinks would work. The zalmans were also a PITA. They fall off pretty easily if your not careful. I knocked a couple off when trying to install the tubing, and it wasn't fun putting...

    I tried modifying the official 9.1's and it didn't work. It shows that the 8.56 drivers are installed and reports them as up to date. If I try a clean install I don't even see the option to install drivers. The 4850x2 9.1's on AMD site work however.

    Here are some pics of my 4850x2 watercooled. The blocks didn't quite fit with the crossfire chip heatsink so I had to remove one fin from each side as seen in the first picture. The card is now silent and loads at about 40 degrees.

    The corruption in Vantage is caused by not rebooting after enabling crossfire. Reboot the machine and then run Vantage and it should be ok after that.

    I've got my 4850x2 working running the drivers that came on the disk. I believe they are the 8.11's. The 8.12's from Sapphire work as well. I tried the 8.11's from Sapphire's site and when the install manager runs I don't get the option to install drivers. Same goes for any driver version...

    2900PRO Overclocking

    I'm not done on the core yet. When I go back on days off here later this week I'll see how high it will go. It got up to 850 fairly easily, haven't seen any signs of instability yet. I am using a MCW60 block and MCR220 Rad.

    So far I've got mine up to 850/1000 Using Rivatuner 2.05. I've got it water cooled and under load it tops out about 45c. I'll see if I can take it higher when I get a little more time to play with it next week.
