I haven't contributed to this thread for a while and was about to sell the DS3 3.3 until I stumbled over the new F13o beta BIOS. My board suffered from the well documented cold-boot issues up to F12 BIOS as soon as my Q6600 went up to approx 3.6Ghz independent of the multiplier, voltage etc I...
although this is not directly related to the wolfdale compatibility, I wanted to mention that I am very impressed with the F13o BIOS on my DS3 3.3. My board suffered from the well documented cold-boot issues up to F12 BIOS as soon as my Q6600 went up to approx 3.6Ghz independent of the...
can only agree. Its been the best purchase this year (3007WFP-HC). Image quality and real estate is amazing. The panel is S-IPS and superb to look at from all angles, which is something that newer screens will lack with the shift to cheaper PVA and TN based panels. I doubt that Dell will...
scaling by the GFX card is what happens and it proabably looks better than most inbuild scaling chips. personally is think it looks very smooth, expecially the 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 so no problems with HD content.
Does anyone know whether my oldish Gigabyte DS3 v3.3 board will run with the new penryn CPU? I am thinking of upgrading early in the new year. I guess all that is needed is a BIOS update as the FSB of 1333MHZ is supported?
I think it had to do with all what you mentioned and the fact that all other inputs would need a hardware-based scaler which scales to the target resolution of the panel. At this resolution these chips are still quite expensive and we are only just beginning to see them being used such as in the...
I am not a massive gamer, but I am running bioshock (dx10) maxed out @ 1920x1200 and it looks awesome (vsync on). FSX runs at full res and needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. Its totally immersing.
I am a little surprised to hear that the samsung with PVA panel came out on top. the biggest problem for me with PVA technology is color/contrast shift. sitting fairly close in front of anything over 24'' for desktop work shows this problem. the middle of the screen looks like a dark hole while...
I am currently playing bioshock (Dx10) on my 3007WFP-HC at 1920x1200 with one overclocked 8800gts with acceptable rates. cant recommend this monitor more highly.
