I ran into the same problem with my XT5000T. My laptop would not post and all I got were the fans turning on. I tried this little towel trick last night and now my XT5000T is working again. So weird, but I'm glad to have my laptop back. Hopefully it'll be ok for a while this time around.

I currently have the original BIOS that the laptop came with and my Atheros card used to go out and disappear randomly, so I disabled it and turned the wireless card switch off and ended up buying a wireless...
Has anyone upgraded to the TL-56 or TL-60? If you did, did you have to upgrade the BIOS or anything like that? How's the temperatures compared to the TL-50. I'm currently using the TL-50 and RMClock to get lower temps.
