Have you tried running the game in Application Compatible Mode under 2000? Also you may want to look at ntcompatible.com for information as far as work arounds to get the app to work if it is possible under NT.
I flashed my 6805 with the Arima bios, she is working great. Tried the SP2 install before the flash and nothing good to come out of it. After the flash and clean install of a slipstreamed SP2, no troubles at all, worth the risk. Thanks for all the info on this subject WereSHARK ;)
If your gonna install SP2 a bios flash of the mainboard might be needed depending on the version thats on the laptop. All the information on that came be found in the sticky in this forum. You can also run Doom 3 on this laptop at higher settings and yield good fps. As far as the mod tool to...
Have you installed SP2? If so that maybe something to look into. Have to tried installing or running compatabily mode? Dont use the app myself figure shootout a few things to try.
Was thinking the same as yourself when I added watercooling to my setup. And ended up coming to that the pci secondary card's heat isnt really that bad, and wanted to get the best flow I could out of the system.
I would suggest holding off til ya can come up with alittle more cash, the prices on the 9800 pro's are dropping. Got mine a couple months back for under 200 new. You would get alot more bang for the buck that way.
Generally the longer you can hold off, you can save a few on the same model you'd buy today. But newer models will have newer features in them, ex.removable vid cards. Which will be sweet, get alittle more life outta it. But as already said, budget?
